Tomori, Mendoza, Barrientos... the Maurice Revello Tournament graduates burst onto the international scene

Each international break is the opportunity for several players who took part in the Maurice Revello Tournament to make their international debut. Over the last days, some of them earned their first international cap.

FIkayo Tomori (England)

Under the Frank Lampard's guidance, the 21-year-old forced his way into the Chelsea starting XI (already 13 games started this season). His astonishing rise has been rewarded by a first international cap with the England senior team on Sunday. The Maurice Revello Tournament 2018 winner came off the bench during the 4-0 win over Kosovo in the Euro 2020 qualifiers.

Stiven Mendoza (Colombia)

When the Colombian attacking midfielder played the Maurice Revello Tournament 2010, he was still playing at local club Envigado. Then, he has discovered several countries : India (Chennaiyin), Brazil (Corinthians, Bahia) as well as United States (New York). Before joining France and most precisely Amiens on January 2018. A winning choice as his recent performances in the French Ligue 1 (4 goals in 7 games) allowed him to be included in the Colombia senior team during this international break. Mendoza played his first minutes with Los Cafeteros during the friendly against Peru (1-0).

Rudy Barrientos (Guatemala)

The 20-year-old midfielder, who scored a goal during the Maurice Revello Tournament 2019, has been called up to the Guatemala senior team for the CONCACAF Nations League fixtures. Already assured of promotion to the Division B, Guatemala confirmed their good form as they hammered Puerto Rico (5-0). The Municipal midfielder played the entire game.
