World Cup 2018 : Ronaldo is world-class, solid performance from Lloris !

The World Cup 2018 takes place from 14th June to 15th July. It should be noted that 81 players who took part in the Maurice Revello Tournament compete in the World Cup. Throughout the competition, we will take look at their performances !

Russia-Saudi Arabia : 5-0

The country host outclassed Saudi Arabia in the World Cup opening game. Fedor Smolov took part in this victory as the Krasnodar striker has played 70 minutes before being replaced.

Egypt-Uruguay : 0-1

28 years after their last participation in the World Cup, the Pharaohs produced a good display. Unfortunately for them, they conceded a late goal from Gimenez and start the competition by a defeat. Ahmed Hegazy played the full 90 minutes while Marwan Mohsen has been replaced after the hour mark.

Morocco-Iran: 0-1

The Moroccons can regret their lack of efficiency ! Like his teammates, Younes Belhanda hasn’t been rewarded for his efforts. Despite playing the whole game, the Galatasaray midfielder couldn’t help his country to get a point…

Portugal-Spain : 3-3

Big players are always shining during the big games. And Cristiano Ronaldo is obviously a big player ! The five-time Ballon d’Or made the headlines as the Maurice Revello Tournament 2003 winner netted a fantastic hat-trick including a stunning free-kick in the last minutes to level the scores !
Meanwhile, three other Toulon Tournament former players have been in the Portugal starting XI : the goalkeeper Rui Patricio, the right-back Cédric Soares as well as the midfielder Bruno Fernandes.

France-Australia  : 2-1

Les Bleus earned a narrow win over Australia. Hugo Lloris, best goalkeeper of the Maurice Revello Tournament 2006, played a key role in this success as he made a fantastic save in the first half.

Argentina-Iceland : 1-1

The Albiceleste has been held to a draw by Iceland. Javier Mascherano, best player of the Maurice Revello Tournament 2003, has played the full 90 minutes.
