Freddie Woodman (England goalkeeper) : « Here to win the Toulon Tournament »

After winning the opening game against China, England were held to a draw by Mexico (0-0) on this Tuesday. The Young Lions goalkeeper and World Cup U20 winner Freddie Woodman reflects on the game.

“We knew it’s gonna be a difficult game. We have played them twice before. When you look at our past games, it was very tight

Tonight, we were the better team, we had the better chances. A bit disappointed we didn’t get the result we were looking for. We kept a point and we tried to help the team by keeping a clean sheet and that’s what we done. We just need to move forward.

It’s a new group, we’ve got some new players making their debut which is always good. We’ve got as well more experienced players like Cook and Abraham who have been with the first-team. It’s a different group to work with we’ve been used to.

We are here to win the tournament. England have won it the last two times and this squad like winning trophies.”
