James Rodriguez ready to reach new heights with Bayern Munich

Loaned out this summer by Real Madrid to Bayern Munich, James Rodriguez needed a certain time to adapt to the rigours of the German football. Like his team, the Toulon Tournament 2011 winner rediscovered his form over the last weeks.

"I have said repeatedly that new players need a certain time to integrate and that was the case with James”, said the Bayern Munich coach Jupp Heynckes.

After initially struggling, the Colombia international (57 caps, 19 goals) has now cemented his place in the Bayern starting XI : the former AS Monaco star has registered 2 goals and 4 assists in 17 games in all competitions.

His influence in the Bayern’s midfield is growing like illustrated by his performance against Paris Saint-Germain (3-1) in the Champion’s League. During this game, James has delivered an assist and has impressed by his activity.

"I think he can, and most probably will, become more and more important to us in the future, because he is also dangerous in front of goal, which perhaps he hasn't shown so much of so far as he was playing more for the benefit of the team”, told Heynckes.

What we've seen so far might just be the calm before the storm !
