Named best player of the competition, Yosuke Kashiwagi helped Urawa Red Diamonds to win the Asian Champion’s League

After a 1-1 draw in the first leg, Urawa Red Diamonds have beaten the Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal (1-0) on this Saturday to clinch the second Asian Champion’s League title in their history.

Just after the final the Asian Football Confederation announced that the Asian Champion’s League’s best player award was given to Yosuke Kashiwagi.

The 29-year-old midfielder, who took part in the Toulon Tournament 2007, has shone on the continental scene as he delivered 5 assists and scored 1 goal in 10 games in the AFC Champion’s League campaign.

For the second year in a row, this award is given to a former Toulon Tournament player. In 2016, the UAE international Omar Abdulrahman has received this trophy.
