Rafinha revelling in regular game-time at FC Barcelona

After an injury-ravaged 2015-16 campaign (only 281 minutes played in La Liga), Rafinha Alcantara got back to his best this season with FC Barcelona, currently fourth in the Spanish league table. The 23-year-old midfielder, winner of the Toulon Tournament 2013, has earned some playing time thanks to his versatility and rewarded his coach’s confidence with some convincing displays.

The Brazil international (2 caps, 1 goal) has already netted 4 goals in 5 La Liga games : a wonderful strike against Leganes (5-1), a diving header against Sporting Gijon (5-0) and a brace against Deportivo La Coruna (4-0). Rafinha has equaled his best record for a season, made during the 2013-2014 campaign when he was on loan at Celta Vigo (4 goals in 32 league games).

Rafinha is probably enjoying the best start to the season of his career and he’s looking to cement his place in the Barcelona first-team.
