He decided to leave as a free agent at Monaco but immediately went back to Portugal for a year on loan at Académica Coimbra. Then, the left back played a season in AS Monaco second team before leaving in July 2017 on loan to Wolverhampton. In Championship, the left back revealed his talent. He played nine times and even scored a goal against Burton Albion during a 4-0 win.

The youngster Ruben Vinagre also took part to League Cup and FA Cup games. The player also appeared against Manchester City in the fourth round of the League Cup. If he distinguished himself on a personal side, the Lusitanian lived in the meantime an intense year on the collective side, with the promotion of the Wolves in the Premier League !

On national level, he competed and won the U17 Euro on 2016 in Azerbaidjan with the Seleção, just like the older generation in France the same year. The Portuguese pursues today with the U19 squad. The player, belonging to AS Monaco, counts on the Toulon Tournament to definitely launch his career in the elite football.
