CONCACAF U20 : Mexico finished runners-up, Lainez and Macias named in the tournament’s best XI

The CONCACAF U20 Championship ended on this Thursday. Front of their fans, the title holders United States earned a 2-0 win over Mexico. Despite the loss in final, Diego Lainez and José Macias, both seen at the Maurice Revello Tournament 2018, have been included in the tournament’s best XI.

United States - Mexico : 2-0

The rivals United States and Mexico faced each other in the final. Five years after the final won by “El Tri” (3-1), the Americans got their revenge.
The title holders claimed the win thanks to a brace netted by the SC Freiburg player Alex Mendez.

By winning this game, United States extended their unbeaten run to 13 games in the CONCACAF Championship U20 and established a new record.

Despite not leading their side to the win, Diego Lainez and José Macias, both seen at the Maurice Revello Tournament 2018, have been rewarded. The Club America midfielder and the Chivas Guadalajara striker have been named in the team of the tournament.
