Maurice Revello Tournament Team of the Month for October

At the end of each month, we put together a list of players who have passed through the Maurice Revello Tournament and who have shone for their clubs or their national teams. Third part of the 2021-2022 season, with the team of October.

Yassine Bono (Sevilla)

A very busy month of October for the 30 years-old goalkeeper, who have played 8 games in all competitions! He helped Morocco to keep its leading position (double success against Guinea-Bissau and a victory against Guinea) in group I of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers in Africa. At the same time, the Moroccan also played an important role in the good month achieved by Sevilla, well placed in both the Champions League and La Liga.

Trevoh Chalobah (Chelsea)

The England youth international, who spent last season on loan at Lorient in Ligue 1, has been one of Chelsea's revelations this season. The 22-year-old defender is slowly but surely making his way into the starting line-up of the current European champions. Chalobah, who started four times in October, scored a goal against Southampton (3-1), his second Premier League goal of the season.

Nayef Aguerd (Rennes)

7 matches played in October, 7 victories! Whether with Rennes or the Moroccan national team, the finalist of the Maurice Revello Tournament 2015 has always come out of his games with a smile. The 25 years-old defender has contributed to the team's success by scoring the winning goal against Strasbourg (1-0).

Joao Cancelo (Manchester City)

The Portuguese international (30 caps, 5 goals) is a regular member of the Maurice Revello Tournament's teams of the month. Consistent as usual, the versatile Portuguese player distinguished himself in October by scoring in the Champions League during Manchester City's 5-1 win over Brugge.

Ben Chilwell (Chelsea)

The Maurice Revello Tournament 2016 winner has made an incredible comeback in recent weeks. Whereas he was only considered as a substitute by his coach Thomas Tuchel at the start of the season, the England international (15 caps, 1 goal) has regained his place in the Blues' starting line-up thanks to some stellar performances. The 24 years-old left-back scored three goals for Chelsea in October! He also found the net with the England national team against Andorra (5-0) in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers. Ben is back!

Ibrahim Sangaré (PSV)

The 23 years-old, who has put in solid performances in midfield for both PSV and the Ivory Coast national team, also shone in attack, scoring two goals: a sublime strike in the league against Sparta Rotterdam (2-1) followed by a goal a few days later against Malawi (3-0) during the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.

Ludovic Blas (Nantes)

The 23 years-old attacking midfielder has been in the spotlight since the start of the season with FC Nantes and confirmed his current form in October. Blas scored against Troyes (2-0) and then repeated the feat against Clermont (2-1). With 6 goals in 11 games, the FC Nantes player is the second best scorer in Ligue 1!

Antony (Ajax)

The winner of the Maurice Revello Tournament 2019 keeps impressing. In October, the 21 years-old winger made his debut for the Brazilian national team against Venezuela (3-1), scoring his first-ever goal for the Seleçao in just 13 minutes. Following his successful debut for the Brazilian national team, Antony also scored for Ajax against Borussia Dortmund (4-0) in the Champions League and then against arch-rivals PSV Eindhoven (5-0) in the league. What more can be said?

Jota (Celtic)

What if Joao Filipe, known as 'Jota', had finally found the club that suited him? Barred from playing for Benfica, the 22 years-old attacking midfielder has gone on loan to Celtic. It was a wise choice for the Portuguese, who finally seems to be expressing his full potential. In October, Jota scored two goals and provided three assists in all competitions for the Glasgow club.

Gaëtan Laborde (Rennes)

The current joint top scorers in Ligue 1 both took part in the Maurice Revello Tournament: Jonathan David and... Gaëtan Laborde. The Stade Rennais striker has seven goals in 11 Ligue 1 games and scored against PSG (2-0) and Metz (3-0) in October. At the same time, the 27 years-old striker also scored the winning goal in the Europa Conference League against NS Mura (2-1). The months follow one another and are similar for Laborde!

Sébastien Haller (Ajax)

The Maurice Revello Tournament 2014 runner-up, who was already included in the team of the month in September, is there again in October. The 27 years-old striker has not left us much choice: with 3 goals and 3 assists in all competitions in October with Ajax, Haller has shone again. The Ivorian international is currently the top scorer in the Champions League (6 goals) and the Dutch league (7 goals) since the beginning of the season!
