Emerson, Tomiyasu, James... The Tournament graduates animate the end of the transfer window

Like every year, the closing of the summer transfer market on 31 August brings its share of surprises and transfers. The 2021 season was no exception to the rule, and a number of players who passed through the Maurice Revello Tournament were among the many moves recorded.

Despite the financial difficulties faced by the vast majority of clubs following the Covid-19 epidemic, the summer mercato was very lively, right up until the last minutes before the market closed on 31 August. Many clubs did not hesitate to invest to strengthen their ranks, while others resorted to loans or even the signing of players who were free of any contract.

More than twenty of the moves recorded on Tuesday concerned players who had passed through the Maurice Revello Tournament. Among the most notable is the arrival of Emerson Royal (2017 and 2019 tournaments) at Tottenham from Barcelona. The Brazilian fullback, who returned to Catalonia this summer, was already on his way out.

In the North London derby, he will have the opportunity to face another former player of the Tournament: Takehiro Tomiyasu. The Japanese player, who was present at the 2018 edition, arrives at Arsenal after two seasons at Bologna.

Also in England, Nathaniel Chalobah (2014 and 2016 tournaments) and Domingos Quina (2018 tournament) went on loan to Fulham, Welshman Daniel James (2017 tournament) moved to Leeds from Manchester United, and Czech Alex Kral (2017 tournament) joined West Ham.

Jota (Tournament 2018), on loan from Benfica to Celtic, and Egy Vikri, the Indonesian revelation of the 2017 Tournament, who signs for FK Senica in Slovakia, will also be watched closely.
